High School Junior Selected to Study with London Symphony Orchestra

Our own clarinetist, Samuel Heine, was selected by the BellSouth Youth Institute, as one of 23 of the state's top high school musicians to receive a week of intense training. Students in grades 9 through 11 who have participated in the Florida All-State Band or Orchestra programs were invited through a selective process to apply to the Institute.  Sam will study with members of the London Symphony Orchestra, music professors from Stetson University's School of Music and with Richard McNichol, the LSO'a Animateur.  From this group the BellSouth Youth Ensembles (BSYE) are formed: two string quartets, two woodwind quintets, and one brass quintet.  These ensembles perform at area venues as part of their week's training.

Sam has performed with the Florida Youth Orchestra, the Windstars Chamber Ensemble, Center for the Arts European Charity Band and the Florida All-State Band.
