Between his years at U.S.F, Christopher participated as a member of the Cadets of Bergen County in the summers of ’94, ’95, and ’96 where the Cadets placed in the top three in the world all three years. After his aging out of the activity in ’96, Mr. Schletter went on to be a brass instructor with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in ’98 and ’99, Magic of Orlando in ’02 and ’03, and Boston Crusaders ’04 – ’06, helping each of these corps place in the top 12 in the world each year. After graduating from USF, Christopher joined the Broadway show Blast and performed with the company for two years in various cities throughout the country on Broadway in New York, and at Disneyland in California (click here to see photos with the blast crew). After leaving the cast in April of 2002, Christopher came back to his home town to teach a few local bands and then received an opportunity to move down to south Florida where he was appointed Director of Bands at Charles W. Flanagan High School in the Spring of 2003. After growing as a director for 3 years Mr. Schletter decided it was time for new experiences and made his move to Cooper City High School where he is currently the Director of Bands.
Meagan is our color guard instructor that comes to class everyday this year. Christina did this in the past, but since Christina has a full time job at another school we had to find someone else. Meagan is young, but has the background that we were looking for. plus she has been through this program (graduating around '06) and understands the level of the program. She doesn't have the years that the rest of us have, but she's energetic and has the desire to make the program all it can be. With the same background as Hayden and Christina (as well as me and several other people on staff) she's a perfect fit.
Christina has been teacher for the program for several years. She is one of our guard instructors that teaches throughout the fall, winter, all the way through Encore!. She helps with the design of color guard uniforms for the fall and winter guard. She also helps in writing the choreography for the shows. She has about 10 years experience.
Jason is mainly one of our visual instructors, but also helps out with the brass & woodwind performances in the marching band. He is one of the staff members that heads up the visual technique of the program. He also helps with the cleaning (fixing) of the drill on the marching field. He has a background in music education and has about 8 years experience with the activity.
James is mainly one of our visual instructors, but also helps out with the brass & woodwind performances in the marching band. He helps clean the drill on the marching field, as well as teaches marching and maneuvering fundamentals. He has a background in music education and has about 8 years experience with the activity.
Trista is mainly one of our younger visual instructors, but also helps out with the brass & woodwind performances in the marching band. She has the same background as much of the staff and has also been through the program. She was band captain for two years while in the sound of pride and has a great understanding of my philosophy of music education. She helps clean the drill on the marching field, as well as teaches marching and maneuvering fundamentals. She has a background in music education and has about 6 years experience with the activity.
David is in charge of the front percussion ensemble (behind jed) and helps with the music performance level of the percussion section. David extends his help into the 2nd semester months from time to time (hence the "part time-ish"). He comes in to work with the percussion sections that perform with the Symphonic Band and the Wind Ensemble. He also come in occasionally to help with Encore!. David has been arranging/writing for other schools for a few years and has about 8 years experience.
Nick is one of our all around percussion instructors. He teaches and cleans the front ensemble and drum line along with David and Jed. He helps with the music performance level of the percussion section. Nick has also been through the cooper city program under Jed and is well aware of the expectation levels of the program. He has about 10 years experience.
Ben is also one of our newer/younger instructors (joining last year) and has been a great addition. He works directly with drum line and has been a vital part of their success the last two year. He teaches both the visual and musical aspects of the drum line. He has about 4 years experience.
Katie is a recent graduate from FSU (w/ an education degree) and is usually around for the summer. she comes in on occasion to lend a hand when needed. She, too, has been through the band program as drum major (while mr. write was around and before) and is nothing but excited with the direction her alma mater is headed in. When she comes in, she works with both the visual and musical aspects of the program. She has about 5 years experience in the activity.
